The How to Look Good Naked expert has been chosen as the presenter of the new matchmaking show called Baggage .
A source told The Sun : “Bosses really like Gok and they think he will be perfect for a dating show. It is hoped Baggage could become as big as Cilla Black’s Blind Date .”
The show will be an eight part series and will see love-seeking hopefuls gradually reveal their flaws and secrets, which have been hidden in suitcases, to one another.
This new show comes after it was revealed that Gok’s popular show How to look Good Naked won’t be returning this year.
Gok said of this revelation: “I didn’t want to keep doing it until it ran out of steam. It will come back at some point, but maybe in a different form.”
This new direction for Gok is part of a bigger plan it seems as Channel 4 are hoping to make him a core part of the channel by re-branding him as a general presenter, not just a stylist. Progress on this plan has already been made with the release of Gok’s cookery show Gok Cooks Chinese .
Channel 4 also has several other new entertainment shows lined up, including celebrity Million Pound Drop specials that will star Jedward, Steps, Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer, Professor Green and Frankie Cocozza.
